Hello followers!

I will be reviewing Pumpkin cafe located at Strathfield.
The cafe offers an outdoor and indoor area to enjoy beverages. They offer a warm atmosphere which is alluring and offers a relaxing time for customers.
The cafe offers simple entrees ranging from wedges to main meals like pasta. They offer variety of drinks including coffee, tea and alcohol.
I would suggest that the meals are satisfactory and their service is decent.

I rate the cafe 7/10

Starbucks Coffee Review

Cofee review: Starbucks Coffee, 525 George St., Sydney

When walking towards and into this certain Starbucks cafe, one has to be cafe not the trip up, the stairs. It is unusal to see a cafe on a busy street to have have a small set of stairs just before entering it. As a global fanchise, starting out from America, I'd have to say that the coffee is not as good as the coffee back in America.

The layout of this cafe is simple and common yet again. It can be quite crowded at certain times during the day, especially on the weekends. The lighting is dim, but not dim enough so that you won't be able to do your studying in the cafe. As students usually come by this cafe to do their studying, it is not the ideal place to be doing it since it is very open, and conversations bounce around the walls and echo around.

It is also popular for its coffee, but unlike my previous review of Gloria Jean's cafe (click here), it is also quite popular during breakfast, as they do serve a range of breads, sandwiches, wraps and salads unlike Gloria Jean's, which instead serves mostly pastries and desserts.

It is a family friendly cafe, and the target market is also young adults and above.

Cafe review: Tom N Toms

Cafe review: Tom N Toms

Hello world and fellow followers

Hi everyone, today I will be reviewing a cafe in Sydney for my town hall and city dwellers. The cafe is called “Tom N Toms” it is as Korean franchise cafe located on George street Town Hall. Tom N Tom’s cafe is a very modernised western style cafe aimed for teenagers and university students. They are popular for its coffee drinks, ice beverages, honey breads and pretzels. A positive factor for the cafe is its area, the location of the cafe is excellent and very convenient for people visiting or living in the city area.  Similar to the Hello Happy review a negative factor for the cafe is again the non English speaking staffs, overall a nice cafe for relaxing cold drinks.

Cafe review: Expresso Organicana

Cafe review: Expresso Organicana

Hello my fellow bloggers

Hello guys, today I will be posting another blog about another one of my favourite cafe’s in Sydney, Expresso Organicana. Expresso Organicana is located in Concord Majors Bay road; it is one of the most popular cafes in the inner west region known for its excellent coffee and ambiance.  Expresso Organicana specialises in coffee, cold drinks, tea, cakes, pastries, sandwiches, hamburgers, pasta and pizza. A positive factor for this cafe is its fresh ingredients, friendly safe and delicious breakfast and lunch meals. A negative factor for the cafe is the long waiting time for a meal, which makes the customers grumpy and tired.

Cafe review: "Hello Happy"

Cafe review: Hello Happy

Hello World again!
Today I will be doing another cafe review on another one of my favourite cafes in Sydney. It is located in Sydney’s Korea town of Strathfield; Hello Happy is a dessert orientated cafe, mostly famous for their delicious and aesthetically pleasing cakes, breads and hot pastries. A positive factor of the cafe is its delicious desserts with an affordable price tag for all dessert lovers. A negative factor of the cafe is its non English speaking staffs in which it has a negative impact on the general Australian public and to its non Korean speaking consumers. Overall a nice cute cafe with yummy treats.

Sydney Cafe's review "My sweet memory"

Hello world
I’m back!
Today I will be doing a cafe review on one of my favourite dessert cafe’s in Sydney called, “My sweet memory”. “My sweet memory” is a Korean style cafe somewhere in between the middle of Max Brenner and Starbucks orientation. Likewise, they have three locations in Town Hall, Strathfield and Chatswood. “My sweet Memory” is known and famous for their tasty coffee, cold drinks and vibrant dessert menu. It is also famous for selling stationary goods and collectibles which are also very stylish and vivid.  One of the positive factors of “My sweet memory” is their variety of diverse drinks, in which the drinks are surprisingly refreshing and exquisite. However, a downside to the cafe is its expensive and unappealing price tags compared to its nearby competitors. But overall it is a satisfactory place to hang out.

Gloria Jean's Coffee Review

Coffee review: Gloria Jean's Coffee, Strathfield

Upon visiting the Strathfield store of Gloria Jean's, I noticed that the lay out of the cafe was quite common. Glass wooden doors at the front of the store which are opened when needed be, make the cafe have convenient settings depending on the weather. Tables and chairs are also set out on the footpath, which also adds to the choice of sit in customers who decide to breathe fresh air while sipping on their coffee. The location of the cafe is convenient as it is set around the busy business/ shopping area of Strathfield.

This chain of franchise store's customers come in mainly for the coffee. Although they do serve danish, cakes and other sweet pastries, you will often see the customers dropping in for the coffee.

The store is aimed at young adults and above. Even though the cafe is aimed at certain age groups, the cafe is family friendly.

Latte Art

Hey followers,

I came across something interesting about coffee. Although for many people, coffee can be just a quick fix to wake up to but it can also be aesthetically appealing to the eye therefore it can be more enjoyable than coffee just being a drink!

Usually a Barista will need to have experience in creating Latte Art.
It could be a challenge for the Barista to create Latte Art without experience.
The technique is to either draw on the foam that is on the top layer of the coffee or use milk to pour into the coffee. So... by understanding the effort a Barista puts into making a cup of coffee, we should acknowledge the effort but also that coffee is not JUST a simple cup of beverage but it can also be a form of art and a wake up call too!

I've been to a couple of cafes in Sydney. And so far these cafes have presented me with Latte Art and have caught my attention. Enjoy! x)

What is coffee?

What blog would be complete without talking about coffee - on the topic of cafes?!

So what is coffee? To answer this question, I'm going to do a brief summary of where, when and how coffee was discovered.

WHERE & WHEN
Coffee is made from a plant that produces the seeds in which we grind and add hot water and/ or milk to create a beverage. There is uncertainty as to when coffee bean pods were first discovered, but it is known that they were discovered in Ethiopia. Accounts have been recorded mentioning coffee, but there have been known uses of coffee beans since the sixth century.

HOW
One account as to how coffee came about was that a shepherd was shepherding his goats near bushes, and the goats ate strange berries from a bush, and had exhilarating effects on him and his goats. He then brought it to a priest, and he threw them into a fire, where the priest then collected the ashes of the berries which were dissolved in hot water after it entered the fire, therefore producing the world's first cup of coffee.

Types of Cafe's

There are a few different type of cafe's. These styles may differ from country to country.

In the United States of America, the popular day-to-day go to cafe is an informal one. These may be known as diners or a coffee shop. This is where the diners would be most likely to eat breakfast, lunch or even dinner. What is regarded as a cafe, where customers go there solely to get coffee, they are known as 'coffeehouses'.

In Europe, most countries take the literal meaning of 'cafe' and serve coffee, which the customer(s) usually have a "Danish pastry" or a slice of cake, pie or tart.

Cafe's usually have a friendly, laid back, relaxing atmosphere. In most European countries tables and chairs are set out onto the pavement, while most other countries around the world have indoor table settings.

The different types of cafe's that most people are familiar with are
  • Internet Cafe's
  • Cafeteria
  • Sidewalk Cafe
  • Transport Cafe.

Cafe introduction

Introduction to Cafe's

Hello world!

For those who are unfamiliar and new to this blog, this post will guide hungry consumers and fellow culinary enthusiasts on the etiquette and structures of Cafe nature in general.

Cafés are defined as small cozy restaurants and hubs where drinks and small consumables are sold. Additionally, the ambiance of  cafe's is very quite and lavishing, and it's also mainly based on activities such as chit chatting with friends, eating light meals and also just feeling comfortable and relaxed like at home.

Moreover, in a Cafe you mainly find light goods such as Espresso Coffee and high tea sets, juices, small pastries and baking goods such as cakes, sandwiches and burgers, and much more delicate consumables.

Summarily, Cafes cater for all individuals and are highly recommended if you want to relieve stress and feel serenely comfortable with peers or by yourself.

Future Design & Layout of Blog

This will be a blog focusing on cafe's.

In this post, I will discuss the future design and layout of this blog page.

As a dark brown colour is easy on the eyes, and also the colour of coffee, the background colour will be a dark brown.

The background will not have any themes to it as it is already dark, and will draw the reader's attention away from the blog posts.

The design of this blog page will include small animations, or pictures of coffee mugs, emphasising on the Café theme of this blog page.

The layout of the blog will be relatively simple and easy to navigate through for any reader.

The aim is to make the blog layout to look like what is drawn below:

Whole page layout view

Close up of layout

A simple layout of this page will incorporate the laid back style and informal settings that most café’s have. It will set the reader of the blog page at ease, and be willing to read more about the future content on this page.
